Jenni Hyvölä is one of the newest additions to Nextcon’s QA team. She started at Kela in the autumn as a test engineer and works mainly with test automation.

From the school bench straight to testing

Jenni originally studied computer science and got into testing through an internship. In testing, she is particularly interested in challenges and problem solving. Jenni describes testing as detective work, which can be combined with coding. A varied job description is an important part of the job.

– Variety is important. No two days are the same. Problems change every day and the best thing is when you find the right solution.

Jenni ended up at Nextcon after a former colleague tipped her off. Jenni says that work has got off to a good start and she has already been able to develop her skills by taking over the Robot Framework. A strong Python background helped her to learn quickly.

The main tasks at Kela involve working with test automation; repairing and maintaining the old and developing the new. So there is a lot to do.

– I really like it a lot at the moment! Jenni says about the autumn and her new role.
