In the autumn, Nextcon’s diverse team of experts received a valuable addition when Timo Rintakari joined our QA team. Timo’s career at Nextcon began in the autumn as a tester and quality assurance manager in the financial sector, bringing with him no less than two decades of in-depth experience in the testing industry. His responsibilities include planning, documenting and executing test cases, as well as tracking down potential errors.
Testing interest has not waned
Timo started his career in the financial sector, working in banking and insurance. Timo got into testing partly by chance:
– I had been working in a bank for a couple of years and I noticed that we were looking for a tester. It was just a job rotation at first, which lasted for a year. After that, I got to stay on as a full-time tester.
The fact that Timo has always enjoyed taking on new challenges has helped him make the transition to testing in the cold. He has constantly expanded his skills through training in the field, depending on the task at hand. He has completed several training courses and cites the acquisition of the ISTQB testing certificate as a significant milestone.
Although Timo has mainly worked in the financial sector, he also has experience in real estate and public administration. After a long career, his enthusiasm for testing has not waned:
– It hasn’t gone away from me that I want to work on testing. Some kind of frenzy was ignited in me then and it just won’t go away. That’s not the intention, of course,” Timo laughs.
Timo particularly values the opportunity to influence his own work and develop according to his interests. Working at Nextcon and on customer projects has been very rewarding for him. The team’s expertise and the ability to dive into new challenges have made the work inspiring and the agile working environment has made it efficient.
Timo says that at the moment he wants to work within Nextcon for a long time to come.
