Heli Hagelberg has joined Nextcon’s project management services team

The Nextcon crowd has grown again!

Heli Hagelberg has joined Nextcon’s team of project management experts as she begins consulting on one of Nextcon’s longest-standing public sector accounts. Heli’s job description is varied and includes daily tasks in support of the business, such as Assistant Project Manager. In addition, as a vendor liaison, Heli manages Jira, performs configuration work and test coordinator duties, and actively engages with stakeholders.

Heli is a long-time professional who started her career as a systems engineer in 1989, but found her way into project management:

– In 2007, my employer at the time had two career paths to choose from at the lead designer stage. I could have either focused on a technical specialist role as a senior level designer or chosen the project management role. In the end, the choice was clear.

The choice has also paid off, as Helen has more than 16 years of experience in project management and team leadership. 10 of these have been in public administration projects, both in system development and project management. Although her experience is solid, every project is always a new experience. This is also the case here. Heli says that the start-up has given her a lot to learn, as well as new business skills. In addition, the Christmas holidays meant that the orientation process was sometimes hectic. However, Heli says that it is good to be a new member of the team, with nice people and a good atmosphere. The sparring sessions with the front person and the coffee breaks at Nextcon have also been nice when starting work.

Speed and activity is the key

Heli names two philosophies of life:

  1. When life throws you a challenge, don’t get discouraged and stay in the fire.

  2. Find ways to survive and grow, speed and activity are key.

He has followed these throughout his career and, of course, when he applied for his current job in the autumn:

– I read a job advertisement on LinkedIn written by Tero and was immediately interested. I picked up and called Tero right away and we chatted for a long time. It was agreed that I would send in an application and it didn’t take long before things were moving towards writing a contract. I was and am so happy about this opportunity.
